Tailored workshops for more learning, engagement and fun!

Corporate workshops

One reason why I got into training was that I too often had experienced boring, standard workshops of trainers who may have been an expert in their field, but didn’t know how to transfer this knowledge and skills onto a diverse group.

With every request for a training, we first discuss what needs to change and into what kind of behavior. Getting a clear picture of that wish list, helps me to tailor the workshop around the current situation, and preferably, tailor the examples towards the real day-to-day business of the participants.

My topics of expertise are pitching/presenting, visualizing your message, and persuasive communication. As they cover a wide range of subjects and topics as you can read below, there are many different smaller, or combination workshops that I have set up and delivered. Scroll down to the pictures below to find more specific workshop ideas!

Pitching / Presenting

Presenting ideas is daily business in any work environment. Not just presenting the big ideas or projects, new strategies or upcoming campaigns, but also the ‘coffee-corner’ moments where opinions are exchanged. Understanding the power of storytelling can be the difference between an idea being adopted, or put in the bin. Sometimes it all starts with that one first sentence. Opening with a clear and inspiring opening statement is something you can prepare. That may include all the magic of non-verbal communication skills as well. Talking to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders: presenting your ideas in an interesting and memorable way will always help move things forward!

Draw your message

Does your team fill slide after slide with text and data? I am not against data, but for presenting a key message, visualization will make all the difference. Through my own workshops I have learned that information is much better kept when it is explained with simple visuals, and less ‘reading’. I always thought I couldn’t draw! Now I help companies with creating more engaging townhall slides or flyers, that support the message. As I know what it is like to feel like ‘you can’t draw’ I have also started to learn others how they can learn to draw a message. Simple. Engaging. Fun! And: memorable!

Persuasive Communication

Where people work together, communication impacts if people stay motivated or not. In my workshops I focus on the interpersonal communication, understanding your audience/stakeholders, and how you can be more persuasive in your communication towards customers, colleagues and others. We work on listening skills, adapting your communication style to others and learn how to solve conflicts.

Most of the time my workshops are tailored to a specific need, not just an entire topic. This way we can make shorter workshops more efficient. To give you a better idea of those, here are some examples of workshops that were done by myself or in cooperation with one of my partners, either in Dutch, English or German:

1. How to draw your message workshop

90 minutes, 2 hours or 2,5 hour workshops

Communicating with visuals helps getting everyone on the same page, fast! Step away from lengthy text on PowerPoint slides and instead, draw out your idea. This will make it more memorable, more engaging and easier to understand. I specifically pay attention to those who think ‘they can’t draw’… I said the same! So try out this other way of communicating and discover the results! On top, your team will have a creative and fun workshop that supports team building while learning a very useful tool for day to day business: drawing your message!

2. Workshop Team Communication

3 hour workshop on bringing a new or often changed team together. Purpose is to understand each other better, connecting and sharing skills. We look at different communication styles, sharing strengths and ‘allergies’ to get more insight into each other and learn how to be more flexible with our own communication styles. Finalizing the workshop with a visualized joint statement on how to communicate with each other, respecting each other’s quirks and skills leaves the team with a visual reminder going forward.

3. Stakeholder engagement workshop in cooperation with Rafael Ramon, Eightangles

In 3 half day workshops we go through the Stakeholder’s needs, listening skills, creating a value-based offer, handling objections etc. There are multiple roleplay sessions using a business related case and personalized feedback from the trainers. This workshop has been highly rated thanks to the tailored business cases that my partner Rafael Ramon wrote and the personal feedback participants have received.

4. Storytelling workshop in cooperation with Rafael Ramon, Eightangles

In one full day workshop we look at your target audience, what they really care about, and how your key message will have to circle back to that insight. Then, we will have multiple rounds of creating and telling your story, where we start with a focus on the content and the flow of the story and end with personalized feedback on all the non-verbal storytelling tips and tricks.

From a participant: “It was incredibly valuable to see how the stories evolved and also how the delivery of these stories improved by considering all the feedback, tips, trick and tools.”
